To our fans,

On behalf of the Oasis, Texas team, I want to take a moment to thank you for your support up to this point. If you haven’t heard yet, we just won a Gold medal in the Ordinary/Best Bitter category at the 2014 GABF for the London Homesick Ale. It’s the highest honor an American beer can receive. While we’re thrilled at having this kind of validation, it’s merely an echo of what we’ve been hearing from you in the marketplace. We’re so grateful to have the kind of fans we have because you “get it.”

English-Style Bitters are not a commonly produced style in the US, and as a result they’re often met with a resounding “meh” from the public. They don’t beat you over the head with their flavors, but rather dance with subtlety. When we decided that the London Homesick Ale would be one of our flagship beers, we figured we’d have an uphill battle to get anyone to embrace it. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. From the get go you have supported and cherished that beer, making it equally successful to our other core styles. It’s clear when I talk to people who drink it that they understand what a Bitter is supposed to taste like. That we’re able to put a canned, dry, delicate, uncommon English style in an IPA driven market and have it met with such enthusiasm gives us so much pride in our state and its beer drinkers. Like I said before, all of you really “get it.”

So, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for taking the time to support an unusual beer from a young brewery. We’re so happy to produce beer for you and we look forward to sharing many more LHAs with you in the future.
